About.

Hamiota Collegiate Youth in Philanthropy group advocates for youth involvement for fostering a sense of community.

Established in 2017

Our small group came to be in 2017 with a visit from the Thomas Sill Foundation. Across Canada, many community foundations are teaching young people about the charitable sector in their communities. High school students are learning the methods and techniques used by foundations to support charitable activities. We are lucky to be one of 38 high schools across Manitoba that participate in the Youth in Philanthropy project.

Our Goal

Our goal is to fund projects that we feel benefit youth in the community and/or attending Hamiota schools. Applicants must have charitable status, or be sponsored by an organization that is a
registered charity
